Lady Gaga was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta,  better known by her stage name Lady Gaga on March 28, 1986, in New York City. The first child of Italian American Joseph Germanotta, an internet entrepreneur, and Cynthia (née Bissett),Gaga has one sister, Natali, born in 1992.Gaga is left-handed and began learning to play piano aged four, went on to write her first piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mike nights by age 14. Gaga was raised a Roman Catholic.At the age of 11, Gaga attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private all-girls Roman Catholic school on Manhattan’s Upper East Side,  but has stressed that she does not come from a wealthy background, saying that her parents “both came from lower-class families, so we’ve worked for everything—my mother worked eight to eight out of the house, in telecommunications, and so did my father.” Continue reading

Catherine was born at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading on 9 January 1982 and christened at St Andrew’s Bradfield, Berkshire on 20 June 1982. Catherine Middleton is the eldest of three children born to Carole Elizabeth Middleton (née Goldsmith), a former flight attendant and now part-owner of Party Pieces, a private company with an estimated worth of £30 million,and Michael Francis Middleton, who also worked as a flight attendant prior to becoming a flight dispatcher for British Airways, currently also an owner of Party Pieces. CatherineMiddleton parents married on 21 June 1980, at the Parish Church of Dorney, Buckinghamshire,  and in 1987, founded Party Pieces, a mail order company that sells party supplies and decorations.  Catherine has a sister, Philippa Charlotte, known as “Pippa” (born 1983),and a brother, James Middleton (born 1987). Screen star George Takei (”Star Trek,” “Heroes”) may soon be seen on Broadway. Takei is scheduled to star with Tony Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in the new musical Allegiance, which is aiming for a Broadway bow in 2012.

Allegiance is described as “a new musical about love, loss and heroism in the backdrop of the Japanese American internment.”

On his way to opening, Takei brings fans his original web series “The Road to Broadway.” In his first episode, George Hosato Takei explains that he is impatiently awaiting his Broadway bow and thinks that he should be considered for the cast of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. Since Spider-Man will soon make its official Broadway debut—without Takei in the leading role—he tries his luck at Broadway’s Sister Act.

Authorities in Indiana are searching for a missing college student who disappeared early Friday after a night out with friends.

Lauren Spierer is a pint-sized student who weighs less than 100 pounds and is 4-foot-11 and had just completed her sophomore year at the school’s Bloomington campus.

She was last seen at about 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning walking to her apartment. The Indiana Daily Student reports that Spierer was at Kilroy’s Sports Bar Thursday night and then at a friend’s party. She was last seen at the intersection of 11th Street and College Avenue. Surveillance footage from her apartment at Smallwood Plaza shows that she never came home. Continue reading

Lauren Alaina Suddeth was born on November 8, 1994, to Kristy and J.J. Suddeth of Rossville, Georgia. Her father works as a process technician in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Lauren Alaina Suddeth is a sophomore student at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, where Lauren Alaina Suddeth is a cheerleader.Alaina was inspired to sing by her cousin, Holly Witherow, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Prior to Idol, Alaina performed at several Chattanooga-area venues and was the first winner of the WinniSTAR youth talent contest at Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park in 2009. In addition to performing, Alaina wrote several songs including “Leaving” and “Set Me Free”.
